Dreamy Summer Fashions

The author, Kicki Storm, modeling casual fashions from Angela’s. Note the trendy stripe down the side of the jeans.

All women’s fashions provided by Angela’s. Photographed at an historic Milton Road estate.

Dreamy Summer Fashions

Sunshine is a state of mind. Take it from Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine”, a muchplayed song at hospitals these last weeks as patients who were diagnosed with Covid-19 are discharged. It’s a real mood booster, as are the beautiful days ahead.

Welcome the warm sunshine and embrace the outdoors, as we have in these photos taken at both private and popular locations around Rye.

For the beach or a backyard affair, easy, breezy pieces are a must. Go for an item that stands out in color or pattern — a pretty floralbold print, or retro polka dot.

A great pair of white pants or jeans, preferably highwaisted and paired with a striking top, make a splash. A pant with a widelegged flair is the perfect base for any summer look. (Get ready as we will see more highwaisted and widelegged pants come fall.) Opt for a top, dress, or jumpsuit with artful draping, cut outs, or standout details. Choose a “shivering” fabric like seersucker, organic cotton, linen, or cool silk.

Fashion is a form of selfexpression and knows no quarantine. Feel free to try something new. Turn a fabulous scarf into a headband. Add a buzzworthy piece to your summer look.

Now is the time to dream and have fun; you’ve earned it.
