Eric Greenspan, 59, of Rye was arrested by Rye Police on Dec. 6 and charged with driving while intoxicated.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., Rye Police responded to a report of an accident that caused property damage on Forest Avenue, near Beck Avenue.
Police said their investigation determined that Greenspan had lost control of a 2023 Rivian, driving off the roadway and striking a residence.
Officers said they administered a field sobriety test, which Greenspan failed. At RPD Headquarters, he provided a breath sample that had a .11 percent blood alcohol concentration, police said. The legal limit is .08.
He was released and is to appear in Rye City Court later this month.
