  FASHION RUNWAY

Bright Days Ahead

BY KICKI STORM

The awakening of spring gives us a breath of fresh air and a chance to reexamine our wardrobes. Blooming flowers, longer days, and more sunshine give us a spring in our step and that translates into what we want to wear. Out with the dark colors and heavier fabrics; in with the florals and brighter colors. Happy prints and lightweight fabrics abound. Experiment with neon colors in pink or highlighter green. A pop of color for women and men is a must.

Take your own look to new heights with some of these suggestions. A day or evening out on the town in cheerful florals for women, and sharpfitted bright suits for men paired with a jazzy pocket square or tiny boutonniere are musthaves in the wardrobe.

For a more casual vibe, men can pair a sport coat with trimfitted light khakis, untucked shirt or pullover, and cool casual white sneakers — save the running shoes for sports. This strikes the balance between relaxed and refined. Men should also have one crazy, cool piece, whether it is offduty sweats with a bold splatter pattern or a bright colored hoodie.

Since fashion silhouettes are whatever women want to make them, decide what works for youAdd a buzzworthy piece. Jumpsuits, hot pants, or shorts with a blazer are playful and popular pieces. Showcase your style with long or short, prints or solids, and neon or pastel colors. Tiered dresses and cuts on the bias are flattering and popular options. Get inspired by the fresh off the runway favorites.
