John Miley passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 92. Jack, as he was known, spent the majority of his life in Rye, N.Y., where he served as a professional firefighter after serving in the U.S. Army.

In 1962, he married Patricia Hitchcock. They had two children.

After retirement, Jack and Pat Miley traveled and built a home in Pennsylvania, where he enjoyed playing bocce and spending time with family.

“Jack was always ready with a story about his beloved Brooklyn Dodgers, an old Rye legend, or with a funny joke,” said his family.

He is survived by his wife Pat; his two daughters, Maureen (John) and Sheila (Michael); and his four grandchildren: Eric, Meghan, Kaitlin, and Ryan.

A Mass was held October 13 at St. Cyril of Jerusalem in Jamison, Pa. Donations in Jack Miley’s memory may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Gastroenterology Department.
