Shelley Mayer has my support in the upcoming special election for State Senate on April 24. As a current Assembly member, she has always led the fight for sensible gun restrictions, such as banning bump stocks, enacting extreme risk protection orders, and funding gun safety research. Shelley will be able to push the Senate to vote on bills that have not been allowed onto the Senate floor by the current majority. She will fight for the Child Victims Act, which has also been held up by special interests. She will fight for our schools, our environment, and for equal rights for all New Yorkers.
I’ve been volunteering for Shelley’s campaign since February and have been impressed with her tenacity, her honesty, her smarts, and her caring about the people she serves. She’s always fought for her Assembly district and I know she will do the same for us in the State Senate.
On Tuesday, April 24, Shelley Mayer has my vote.
