No Limit on Luxury in Second-Story Shop

A Louis Vuitton Wizard of Oz scarf and bandana collection, Chanel bags in green, and a floral Gucci Yankees cap made in Italy. These are a few of the treasures at La Mia Collezione, a boutique showroom of limited and hard-to-find luxury goods that recently opened at 82 Purchase Street on the second floor.

The man behind the collection is John Ciaccio, who has carefully selected exclusive luxury items from top brands and fashion designers. For Ciaccio, the pieces are “works of art that have special meaning, are meant to be cherished and passed down from generation to generation.” And they are all authentic. “None of what I sell is used or vintage. It’s all the real thing,” said Ciaccio.

“Every product has a story,” Ciaccio noted. There are owl bags by Burberry, which he says are worthy of a glass case, and a rare Burberry Singapore Edition bag with a black handle. The collection also features art-inspired T-shirts and bags by Supreme, which are a hit with the younger set. There’s also a Louis Vuitton surfboard. “It’s unique, it’s fun, it’s cool stuff,” he said.

Ciaccio has taken personal service to the next level, offers complimentary white-glove delivery. And for anyone who is unavailable during the showroom’s hours, which are 11 to 6 Monday through Saturday, he will make special accommodations.

After searching in Westchester for a location for a showroom, Ciaccio fell in love with Rye. When’s he out and about in town or at La Fenice, the coffee and gelato café on Purdy Avenue that he frequents, he enjoys meeting residents and other business owners and is eager to be a bigger part of the community.

Ciaccio, who grew up in Chelsea and the Bronx, was involved with several businesses before taking a break to reflect and deciding to follow his passion. A painter and sculptor who likes to bring found objects to life, Ciaccio was always a fan of design. After much research, he began collecting products that he found intriguing and special. “It takes time to build a collection,” Ciaccio explained. “It astounds me how many different ways there are to make a handbag.”

La Mia Collezione provides a welcoming atmosphere and a unique experience. Shoppers can register for a free membership at lamiacollezione.com and receive information on the latest products. The store’s entrance is at the rear of the building.
