Hugh A. Taggart, who was born in Nashua, N.H., and lived most of his life in Rye, N.Y., died on October 11, 2019 in Southbury, Conn. He was 82.
He graduated, in 1960, from St. Lawrence University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, ROTC, and both skied and jumped for the SLU Ski team. It was at St. Lawrence that Tag, as he was known, met his future wife, Monica Sperzel.
After a brief stint in the US Army, the Taggarts moved to Rye to raise their three children, Dick, Tom, and Pam. Mr. Taggart enjoyed a rewarding career at INCO Ltd. in New York and Toronto.
Tag Taggart is remembered by his family, including seven grandchildren, for his love of playing tennis and paddle tennis, and skiing or hiking mountains with them all.
