RPD: Remember To Keep Your Castle Secure

Burglars Prey on Unlocked Rye Homes, Cars

The City of Rye Police Department declared a Code Red advisory August 30 due to a recent rash of residential burglaries around town. RPD advised residents to secure their homes and property by remembering to set alarms and make sure all doors and windows are locked when leaving.

The suspects are possibly targeting unoccupied homes with mail and packages left out at the front door.  If residents have a camera system, they are advised to review video footage for suspicious activity.  If they see something suspicious in their neighborhood, they should call RPD at 967-1234.
