The Wildcats are looking to reclaim the NYSAIS championship that they last won in 2015. University of Virginia-bound senior Taylor Regan and junior Sarah Walker are two of the five returning players. In addition to the co-captains, Coach Georgette Summers is counting on senior Emily Moran to help lead the 14 new players to a successful season.

Their season begins March 29 at Canterbury School.

Boys Track

Despite graduating 21 seniors, the Wildcats team is 40-members strong. Seniors Jared Jones, Evander Jackson, and Noah Swan will lead the pack. This is Jones’ second year as captain.

Coach Charles Ogbana said, “We are strong in sprints, relays, throws, and jumps. Our distance squad is also competitive.” He allowed that with 14 new boys on the squad they’ll need to focus on teamwork.

The athletes to watch are sprinters Jones, who was injured last year, and sophomore Cameron Coleman, who qualified for the freshman 100 and 400 at Nationals. Shams Elbardissy, who had a breakout season last year, will anchor the throwers. Evander Jackson is the defending NYSAIS champion in the 110 hurdles. Jumper Obosa Ogbeide is expected to compete for at least three titles and Noah Swan should place at the top in the steeplechase.

Their first meet is the Ossining Relays on April 1. Last year, the boys won the 4×100, 4 x200, and the 4×400.
