What/Who Will A Successful Season Depend On?

“Even though we have several returning starters this year, and their experience at the varsity level will no doubt be valuable, with an entirely new coaching staff every player in the program is learning new offensive and defensive systems. Our success early in the season will depend on how quickly the entire team gels on both ends of the court, laying the foundation for the entire season. We are also a team without any players returning who averaged over 10 points per game, so on offense we will need to play error-free possessions to generate scoring opportunities. We’ll be emphasizing a sound, aggressive team defense to keep us in games this year.

“The coaching staff has been very impressed so far with the focus and intensity that the players have brought into this new season, and we are looking forward to fans coming out to recognize their efforts and support the team.”

What About the Competition? “We are in a new league this year consisting of Blind Brook, Bronxville, Edgemont, and Keio. We are also participating in two tournaments: the Alexander Hamilton Tournament December 8 & 9, and the North Salem Tournament December 18-20.

Opening Game: The Panthers kick off the season on the road at Pawling December 5 at 5 p.m. Their home opener is against Solomon Schechter two days later at 4:30 p.m.

The Panthers are full of confidence for the season ahead.
