Rye Voters Reject School District Bond

Rye Voters Reject School District Bond

In a surprisingly close vote, the Rye City School District’s $80 million construction bond was defeated Tuesday by the slimmest of margins, 18 votes. The unofficial results were 1,478 opposed, 1,468 for. The results are not final until certified by the County.

Speaking to residents after the polls closed tonight, the message we heard was “the total tax burden on Westchester County residents is simply too much.”
