Rye locals, Shane Cunningham and Loren Riegelhaupt, decided to set their own challenge this last Saturday.

With the support of a few friends manning the boat and kayaks, they swam the sound from AYC to Glen Cove on Long Island early on Saturday morning (7/27). The 4.6 mile trek took them just over two and a half hours.

Life child international trust, a charity focused on under-privileged children in South Africa, received the proceeds from their efforts.

The support crew included Rich Grani, Andrew Padovano, David Anicarico, Steve Fromhart and Eddie Campbell.
