The Great Thing About a Grasso Home 

 

When Jeff Grasso discovers a 1920s or ’30s Tudor in poor condition, his eyes light up. “Architects and craftsmen paid attention to design in that period. I know the potential of those homes and enjoy bringing them back to what they were meant to be.” 

 

He begins every major project considering the best use of the property, respectful of the specimen trees, the landscape, the neighborhood. On the Westchester Country Club grounds alone, Jeff has given new life and stature to nine homes. “It’s a special area and you have to be sensitive to its enduring style.” 

 

While he tries to steer away from smaller scope projects, he ends up doing four or five a year. “The truth is, if I like the people, I’ll do any project. Then, I buy the kids hard hats.” 

 

His clients are ones who appreciate quality and the fact that Jeff goes out of his way to ensure that his suggestions and vision mesh with their needs and dreams. “Knowing that we’re going to be working together for a year, our relationship needs to be both professional and friendly.” Unsurprisingly, he has become good friends with most of his clients.  

 

Over three generations, Grasso Development Corp, whose roots are in New Rochelle where Jeff grew up, has earned the trust and loyalty of hundreds of homeowners. It’s easy to understand why, watching Jeff and his father and partner Tony Grasso working side by side on projects and knowing that Jeff’s wife Margaret, who is also an agent at Berkshire Hathaway, is their righthand assistant during construction and renovation and will market the property if it doesn’t already have a buyer.
