Keeping the Shine in Summer Hair

Summer is the perfect time to shake up your hair care routine and treat yourself to a product refresh. As the days get longer and hotter, it can be harder to keep your hair looking its best, but fear not, there are a slew of great products to address the multitude of issues that come up: frizz, dryness, color issues, and overall maintenance.

It’s time to switch out your hair regimen, or add-in some helpers to get you and your tresses through the balmy days and nights of summer. Here is a list of the best of them, for all your mane concerns.

Deep Conditioner & Hair Masks

Best-selling Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask adds a healthy sheen to hair while sealing damaged ends.

Amika Soulfood Nourishing Hair Mask is packed with vitamins and minerals like jojoba seed oil and sea buckthorn to bring shine and moisture to dull, dry hair. Use it as a weekly treatment or in place of your daily conditioner if your hair is extra porous.

Achieve the bouncy, silky-smooth hair of your dreams with K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask This amazing product is clinically proven to reverse damage by reconnecting broken keratin chains in just four minutes.

Treat your hair to Vegamour HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Hair Mask which is made with Karmatin, a vegan alternative to keratin and silicone.

Frizz Control Whiz

Spritz Color Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti Frizz Treatment on to freshly washed hair and activate the smoothing ingredients with your blow dryer (this product only activates with heat applied) to eliminate frizz and make styling much easier. Note: Drench your hair with spray on towel-dried hair. Also, this product stays in for three shampoos! This one has changed my life and saved me from having to get a Brazilian Blowout (not a great choice for chemically-treated hair).

Living Proof No-Frizz Smooth Styling Serum is specifically formulated for thick or coarse hair, that provides a smooth blowout in half the time.

Beachy Waves

Ouai Wave Spray is ideal for thin hair. Mist this on to limp locks to add texture and volume that will make you look like you just came from the beach.

Enhance your natural wave with a few spritzes of Playa Endless Summer Spray. The lightweight formula won’t weigh your hair down or leave you with a crunchy finish. Smells amazing, too.

Blonde, Not Brassy

IGK Mixed Feelings Purple Leave-in Toning Drops will help you avoid any brassiness.

Heat Protectants

If you are using hot tools, like hot irons or blow dryers, be sure to protect your hair from breakage and dryness with a mist like Drybar Hot Teddy Heat Protectant beforehand.

Kerastase Discipline Keratin Thermique is another personal favorite. This is a game-changer and one, along with ColorWow Dreamcoat, which I cannot live without. Apply on towel-dried hair before blow-drying.

Put an End to Split Ends

GHD Rehab, Advanced Split End Therapy helps to prevent cuticles from lifting by improving the smoothness of the hair surface while coating every strand of hair. The gh heat protect spray body guard works to protect your locks from everyday heat styling, for hair that looks and feels healthier.

Best Hair Oil

Moroccanoil Original Treatment is a classic for a reason (it’s always in my arsenal). Apply it while hair is damp and let it air-dry for an effortlessly shiny look. You can also toss it in your purse or beach bag to help keep your hair looking fresh all day long. Just warm it up in your palms and slide over dry hair to instantly smooth and tame split ends.

Whatever your hair concern may be this summer, this list should keep you covered. Take care of those tresses, ladies and enjoy the sunshine!
