Tropical Visions

Pioneering artist Georgia O’Keeffe (1887-1986) was always surprising us with her alluring flowers and striking Southwest landscapes. She will also soon be remembered and revered for her depictions of the Hawaiian Islands.

“Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawaii” opens at the New York Botanical Garden May 19. The landmark exhibit, which runs through October 28, offers a rare focus of O’Keeffe’s artwork following a nine-week stay in Hawaii in 1939, a “transformative experience”.
