Rye’s two newest RPD Officers, Matthew Alto and Nikko DiDomizio at their swearing-in ceremony
Welcome to the Force
Matthew Alto and Nicholas “Nikko” DiDomizio were sworn in as officers in the Rye Police Department October 19. City Clerk Carolyn D’Andrea officiated.
Both Alto and DiDomizio are graduates of Westchester County Police Academy; their arrival brings RPD up to full force at 37 officers. They began six-to-eight weeks of local training immediately.
Interim Commissioner of Public Safety Lt. Robert Falk commented that the officers are joining RPD in the midst of a particularly challenging year. “Both of these men submitted to a grueling background check. They’re ready to join a department that has a lot of public support.”
DiDomizio, 26, has spent the last two-and-a-half years with the Mt. Vernon Police Department. He is certified in CPR/AED and FEMA Incident Management Systems.
