Students in grades pre-K through 8 find a warm and welcome community and a solid moral ground at Resurrection Grammar and Middle schools.

Both the Archdiocese of New York and New York State set the curriculum guidelines. In addition to the core subjects, instruction is offered in Spanish, Art, Computer, Physical Education, Library, and Music. Advanced Math classes are offered to eligible students in grades 7 and 8.

Among Resurrection’s after-school clubs are Chess, Drama, Cooking, Crafts, and Lego.

A member of the Fairchester Athletic Association, the school offers programs in soccer, field hockey, cross-country, basketball, lacrosse, and tennis.

A new multimedia center for assemblies and dramatic productions (which were SRO last year) is opening in the former Methodist Church next door.

This year, the school is excited to forge ahead with its going-digital program, and will provide iPads to 7th and 8th graders.

The important traditions continue: every single morning students are welcomed at the door, every first Friday a school-wide Mass is held. Assistant Principal Christopher Siegfried, who previously was an English and Social Studies teacher in New York City, remarked that the faculty and administrators focus on how faith plays a part in every aspect of life. “Our students leave with a true sense of self-esteem and care for their fellow man.” A great many Resurrection School graduates continue on at Catholic high schools.

When school opens September 9, Principal Sr. Anne Massell and Mr. Siegfried will be there to welcome students with a smile and a firm handshake.
