With no fires to put out or false alarms to handle, the Rye Fire Department put its hook and ladder truck to good use at Rye Recreation summer camp. After Fire Inspector Kurt Tietjen went over important safety rules, with help from Sparky the company dog, and prepared campers for what was to come, fellow firefighters connected the hose, and everyone got happily soaked.
