A New and Exciting Chapter
The Rye Buzzer Beaters team, coached by Rye Free Reading Room Children’s Librarian Lisa Dettling, won the fourth annual Westchester Library System Battle of the Books. The competition was stiff with over 300 young people representing 23 libraries this year.
Congratulations to Teen Champions, pictured from left: Bob Chen, Lisa Dettling, Mark O’Brien, Gabrielle Diaz-Alcantara, Leyla Murati, and Connelly Boyle. All those hours of practice paid off.
The trophy, like the Stanley Cup, travels from winner to winner, and is on display in the Children’s Room. Stop by the Library to see it.
