Rye Mayor Doug French cut the ribbon Wednesday at a ceremony marking completion of the sluice gate installed within the Bowman Avenue Dam to reduce the flow of Blind Brook and create additional storage capacity during storms.

 

County Executive Rob Astorino cited the “team effort” between the County, City of Rye, Village of Rye Brook, and State to protect downstream flood-prone areas. Also representing the City were Councilman Richard Filippi, far left, and Rye Brook Mayor Paul Rosenberg.
