Julia Davis and A.J. Chabot, both freshmen at Rye High School, packed up and headed north to train regularly for Alpine ski racing. Combining a passion for the sport and relentless desire to compete, Davis headed to the Okemo Mountain School, while Chabot headed to the National Sports Academy in Lake Placid.
Ultimately, they both qualified for the Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf, Maine, where the photo was taken. From there they both qualified and skied for the US at the J3 Canadian-American race at Mt. Tremblant, Quebec.
Through hard work and determination they reached their goals of becoming better ski racers and better competitors while excelling at their academics.
