Meredith Tibbals, a senior at Rye High School, was recently named a 2014 Futures Elite Athlete by USA Field Hockey, which selected the best 154 high school athletes in the Futures Program from across the country for this honor. She is one of only eight Futures Elite Athletes chosen from the state of New York.

In addition to this accolade, Meredith will get to train at the Futures Elite Academy next spring. The Academy sits atop USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development Pipeline, which begins with about 5,000 high school students in the Futures Program.

Meredith was selected based on her performance at the National Futures Championship this summer at Virginia Beach. She plays field hockey year-round with her club team, Spirit Eagles, and has committed to play field hockey for Bowdoin College.
