Three Rye High seniors were selected Athletes of the Month by the Lions Club for the spring sports season.

Scarlett Sulliman was selected for her performance on the Rye High girls’ lacrosse team in March. Henry Bailey was chosen as the high school’s top performer in April for outstanding play on the boys’ golf team. And Catherine Livingston was chosen in May for her stellar batting and fielding with the Garnets’ softball squad.

Sulliman is captain of the girls’ lacrosse team, and served as co-captain of the field hockey team in the fall. She is a volunteer with Starlight Children’s Foundation and coaches Rye Youth Lacrosse. She’s a member of the National Honors Society and the Athletic Advisory Council. Coach Dennis Hurlie called her “the best lacrosse player I have ever coached.”

Bailey is captain of the boys’ golf team and has started on the varsity team for four seasons. He is vice president of My Soldier, a group that raises money and collects goods to support U.S. troops. He also works as a caddy at Westchester Country Club.

Livingston received a National Merit Scholar Commendation, and served as captain of the girls’ varsity softball, basketball, and soccer teams. She’s worked as a camp counselor for Rye Recreation, referee for the Rye Youth Soccer League and umpire for the Rye Girls’ Softball Association. She’s also volunteered during triathlons and for Osborn School.

This week, RHS students voted on the Athlete of the Year, who will be honored with the monthly winners at a Lions Club dinner on June 10 at The Osborn.
