Lindy and Willie Gould of Rye are pleased to announce the birth of a daughter, Waverly Anita Gould, on September 23, 2022 at Greenwich Hospital. Waverly weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. She joins her sister, Skyler Egret Burke Gould.

She is the fifth generation, on her mother’s side, to live in Rye. Her great-great-grandfather, George William Herron, moved to Rye in the 1920s. Her great-grandfather, Douglas Herron, graduated from Rye High School in 1935, her grandmother, Ruth Herron Smalt, in 1977, and her mother in 2007. The previous three generations of her family are also all graduates of Milton School.

Her middle name honors her grandmother, Anita Neumeyer Herron, a Rye resident of 66 years who passed away in February.

On her paternal side, she is the grandniece of Sid and Carrie Burke of Rye. Mrs. Burke is an art teacher at Osborn School.

Her maternal grandmother, Ruth Smalt, resides in Siesta Key, Fla. Her maternal grandfather, Robert Smalt, lives in Hendersonville, Tenn. Her paternal grandparents, Peter Gould and Mollie Burke, reside in Brattleboro, Vt.
