Lindy and Willie Gould of Rye are pleased to announce the birth of a daughter, Skyler Egret Burke Gould, at Greenwich Hospital on May 24, 2021. Skyler weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

She is the fifth generation, on her mother’s side, to live in Rye. Her great-grandfather, Douglas Herron, graduated from Rye High School in 1935 and served as the Personnel Director for the City of Rye and as an ordained Deacon and Elder of Rye Presbyterian Church. Her grandmother, Ruth Herron Smalt, graduated from Rye High School in 1977 and served as Director of Wainwright House and Executive Director of the Rye Historical Society. Her mother graduated from Rye High School in 2007.

Skyler’s middle name, “Egret”, is the name of the sailboat her great-grandfather built by hand in Milton Harbor in the 1940s.

On her paternal side, she is the grandniece of Sid and Carrie Burke of Rye. Mrs. Burke is an art teacher at Osborn School.

Her maternal grandmother, Ruth Smalt, resides in Siesta Key, Fla. Her maternal grandfather, Robert Smalt, lives in Spring Hill, Tenn. Her paternal grandparents, Peter Gould and Mollie Burke, reside in Brattleboro, Vt.
