Bring a Bag, Save the Brook
I’ve kayaked up Blind Brook for the last 15 years. This year there has been a massive amount of plastic garbage on the banks. It will all end up in the ocean, inside the bodies of sea creatures, and, eventually, in our intestines.
Proposal: mobilize Rye’s altruistic teenagers. Declare a Save the Brook Day, when homeowners of the banks will welcome teens clad in water shoes bearing garbage bags.
I will provide a trophy to the teen who collects the most trash.
