Cancer Support Team will celebrate the arrival of spring on Friday, April 12 at the Larchmont Yacht Club with a festive cocktail party, silent auction, and raffle to support its free nursing, counseling, and other services.

The mission of the 35-year-old nonprofit homecare program is to enhance the quality of life for individuals and families in lower Westchester who are affected by cancer. Cancer Support Team (CST), which is licensed by the New York State Department of Health, has a professional staff of nurses, social workers, and case managers as well as an extensive network of volunteers. It provides medical and support services at any stage of the disease, at no cost and without regard to insurance coverage.

CST raises every dollar every year for its programs. In 2012, the Team served 521 individuals and made 1,987 in-person visits, primarily to patients’ home. Through its unique volunteer driver program, CST coordinated 824 rides for cancer patients to chemotherapy and radiation therapy appointments.

Tickets to Celebrate Springtime are $100, a portion of which is tax-deductible. Reservations are required. For more information and underwriting opportunities, call 777-2777 or email jdobrof@cancersupportteam.org.
