Four pairs of students placed third or better in their events. Judson Ellis and Dan Philip took first place in Entomology. Ellis and Alexandros Koutsogeorgas earned second place in Fossils. Dillon Lahey and Gus Rodriguez placed third in Wright Stuff. Kenta Takatsu and Sam Papert placed third in Green Generation.
Rye High School teachers Amy Leahy and Brian Rodefeld, who run the Science Club and coach the Olympiad participants, said they were very proud of the students who participated in the competition. They also wanted to extend special thanks to Mary Koutsogeorgas “for helping out and being our Science Olympiad Mom the past two years. She attended the competitions and helped the team out immensely. We couldn’t have done it without her!”
