Imagine having a customized massage or facial — or both — every month. This luxury is now affordable and convenient at the new Massage Envy Spa, which opened in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center on December 4.

There are now over 750 Massage Envy and Massage Envy Spa locations in the U.S, so clearly there’s a market for the company’s wellness services. The Rye Brook facility is Massage Envy’s fourth location in Westchester – there are two in Scarsdale and another in Bedford Hills.

The concept is similar to a fitness club, where there is a membership program with benefits. A $69 monthly membership allows customers a once-a-month massage or facial for $10 more. Benefits include low rates for additional massages and facials, family add-on specials, guest privileges, and special packages. Since the non-member rate for a one-hour massage is $118, it pays to join. And members can use the services at other Massage Envy locations when on vacation or a business trip.

Yet, it’s not one size fits all. “Everything is customized,” says Ellen Samra, owner of the new Rye Brook facility. “When you come in, you and the therapist decide on what is the best type of massage for your needs.” Specialized and therapeutic massages include Relaxation, Deep Muscle, Sports, Foot, Prenatal, Geriatric, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and the signature specialty, Hot Stone Envy. Couples massages, similar to those Intimate Couples Massage Sessions on couples massage toronto, are also offered.

Therapists will also tailor the massage to address specific problems. All the therapists have extensive training and are licensed in New York, which requires higher standards than other states.

How about a special scent to enhance the massage experience? Consider an upgrade, Aroma Therapy, which adds oils extracted from herbs to the lotion used during the massage. One can choose from four different scents. Any leftover lotion can be taken home. The most popular scent, according to Samra, is lavender, which has been attributed to reducing inflammation, calming the mind, and promoting a restful sleep. “Everyone loves lavender.”

Another unique touch at the center is the Wheel of Fortune, which allows members to spin to win a variety of health-related prizes.

Massage Envy Spa also provides the same customized services with its facials and offers four types — Environmental Shield Vitamin C, Clarifyig Enzyme Acne, Anti-aging, and Sensitive Skin — all using Murad Skincare Products, which are also for sale for at-home use. Estheticians offer a complete skin analysis prior to treatments.

The new spa provides a relaxing atmosphere and newly and tastefully appointed reception areas and treatment rooms. First timers can take advantage of a special introductory offer of a one-hour massage for $59 or a one-hour healthy facial for $69.
