David Bruce Williams, an active and respected Rye merchant for over 50 years and a well-known figure on Purchase Street, has died at the age of 67.
Starting in his teens, he worked at his family’s health food store. He also worked for the GiaQuinto family at Rye Beach Pharmacy, managing their natural health products section. Until recently, he worked for the Maguire family, at Jerry’s Market and Liquor Store.
“Dave loved music. He shared his love through his guitar playing,” said his family. “He will be remembered and missed for his kindness and friendly disposition.”
He is survived by his mother, Joan, who lives in Rye, and his sister, Deborah Weik, who resides in Connecticut.
