Springtime brings the shopping event we all look forward to — The Ninth Annual Designing Women of Rye and Beyond boutique fundraiser. The event will take place at Apawamis Club on Wednesday, May 8 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. From 6-8 p.m., don’t miss the fun at “Girls Night Out,” at which complimentary gift bags will be handed out to the first 50 attendees.

The fabulous array of merchandise will include hostess gifts and home goods, unique accessories, jewelry, sunglasses, and leather goods, as well as beautiful plants, flowers, epicurean delights, and more. Remember Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and graduations are right around the corner.

This premier boutique showcase is one of the many fundraising efforts of The Woman’s Club of Rye, Children’s Philanthropy. This volunteer organization with over 50 members focuses on making a difference in the lives of the youth of Rye. Other events the group hosts annually include the Fall Family Portraits, the Rug Sale, and the Halloween Window Painting Bake Sale. Proceeds from these events, and some smaller ones, are distributed to organizations such as the Rye Arts Center, Rye Nature Center, Rye Youth Council, Kids’ S.P.A.C.E., and Rye Recreation. The group hands out Thanksgiving and Spring Break grocery gift cards and holiday presents to the less fortunate in the community.

The Children’s Philanthropy will offer awards to two high school seniors, based on the student’s proven commitment to community service and their desire to make a difference in the lives of the children of Rye and beyond.

Don’t miss this event. It’s sure to be a fantastic day and Girls Night Out.
