It is with great sadness that the family of Dolores Germaine Brent, a former longtime resident of Manhattan and Rye, N.Y., announced her passing on May 9, 2020, in Fearrington Village, N.C. She was 93.

After receiving her undergraduate degree from New York University, she put her knowledge of literature and language arts skills to good use at several Manhattan-based corporations prior to relocating to Rye.

Mrs. Brent was a dedicated volunteer of the Twig Organization of United Hospital in Port Chester, and helped raise money for the hospital through the Westchester Classic golf tournament. An avid bridge player, she played and supported Twig Bridge. She was an active member of the Woman’s Club of Rye, playing leading roles in the Theater Group.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter R. Brent. She will be missed by her children, Alison, Wayne, and Andrew; her grandchildren, Carly Wilson, Devon Anderson, and Andrew Brent; and her great-grandchildren, Parker and Charlotte Wilson.

A service in Dolores Brent’s memory will be held at a future date at University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill, N.C. Memorial donations may be made to the SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Health Care.
