ENGAGEMENTS

Butler — Hall

 

Maria and Mark Butler of Boulder, Colorado, formerly of Rye, N.Y., joyfully announce the engagement of their daughter, Taia Torpey Butler, to Evan Daniel Hall, son of Sherie and Mark Bell of Salina, Kansas, and Dan Hall of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

The future bride graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in Classics. She works as a tour consultant with EF Educational Tours in Denver and makes time to pursue her passion for photography.

 

The future groom is the founder and lead designer of Pexl Design in Boulder, specializing in web development, graphic design, and photography. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design.

 

Ms. Butler’s father is president of Butler Financial Services, Inc., with offices in Denver and Boulder. Her mother is an editor and visual artist.

Her maternal grandparents, Deborah and Svend Hansen Jr., live in Rye. Her grandfather is a maritime arbitrator and insurance broker and was president of Hansen & Tidemann, Inc., a shipping agency founded by his father, a Dane knighted by both the Queen of Denmark and King of Belgium. Her grandmother has been an active member of The Little Garden Club of Rye for 55 years.

 

Her paternal grandparents are Karen T. Butler and the late Martin E. Butler. Her grandmother, Karen, and husband, John Thompson, reside in Rye and Bonita Springs, Florida. Her grandfather, Marty, served as a Rye City Councilman, and founded Butler Bros., a gourmet grocery business in Rye, which her grandmother continued to run for many years. Her grandmother is also the author of “Nantucket Lights”, a history of Nantucket’s historic lighthouses.

 

Mr. Hall’s mother, Sherie Bell, is a dental hygienist, and his stepfather, Dr. Mark Bell, is an otolaryngologist. His father, Dan Hall, is District Service Manager for Canon Solutions America, Inc. They’re delighted at the engagement of their first child.

 

A fall 2021 wedding is planned in Boulder.
