ENGAGEMENTS: Davidson — Longo

Jim and Kim Davidson of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Davidson, to Pete Longo, son of Laura Longo of Port Chester, N.Y. and Pete and Stacy Longo of Rye, N.Y.

The couple met in 2013 at The Pub, a local establishment, but didn’t start dating until the fall of 2017. They became engaged at one of their favorite spots, the Playland Boardwalk, on December 26, 2021.

The future bride grew up in Monroe, N.Y. After graduating from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 2008, she attended Mercy College, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology. In 2013, she moved to Port Chester and worked as a waitress at Rye Grill & Bar while attending nursing school. She earned her nursing degree in 2021 and is currently a full-time nurse at St Vincent’s Hospital in Harrison.

The Longo family moved from Palo Alto, California to Rye in 1994. At Rye High School, Pete was a fullback and defensive tackle on the Garnets’ first State Championship Football team. After graduating in 2007, he went on to Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he majored in Business Management and minored in Sociology. He returned to Rye, where he has worked in a variety of roles at several culinary establishments and enjoyed coaching Rye Recreation Youth Basketball. The future groom plans to open his own business in the next few years.

The couple share a love of travel and live music, especially Phish concerts. They are excited to begin their married lives in a community they love.

An October 15 wedding is planned.
