Erwin B. Chark died peacefully on Feb. 11, 2024, at Harmony Village Assisted Living in Moorestown, N.J.
Born and raised in Chicago, he graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Chemistry. Mr. Chark worked for DuPont before becoming International Sales Manager for McLaughlin Gormley King in Minneapolis, during which time he traveled to over 100 coun-tries. Meeting people from abroad — learning about their cultures and becoming friends – was a passion for him.
His first marriage ended in divorce. In 1987, he married Janet Ryan of Rye, N.Y. Together they traveled to all parts of the globe, even after his retirement. They were longtime members of Shenorock Shore Club.
In December 2019, Mr. Chark moved to Harmony Village to be near one of his daughters.
In addition to his wife, Janet Ryan Chark, he is survived by his daughters, Alexis Chark Hill and Geri Chark Frankel; sons-in-law, David Hill and Rich Frankel; grandsons, Russell Hill and Greg Frankel; and his step-children, Susan Ryan Murphy, Mark Ryan, and Douglas Ryan and their families.
