The Rye High School Men’s Lacrosse Alumni Game is always a spirited event, but this year it was doubly special. For the first time, the proceeds will be split evenly between the Rye Lacrosse Association and the Ward Haynes Scholarship Fund. The RLA, a nonprofit operated by parents, helps raise money for the Varsity, JV, and Modified boy’s teams. Ward Haynes, a RHS alumnus, died tragically in the Sept. 11 attacks. The scholarship in his memory is awarded annually to a RHS senior athlete who participates in multiple sports.
