RHS was hammered by Harrison in softball April 28, losing 11-0 at home.
Harrison pitcher Jenna Vacarro allowed only four hits in seven innings, while striking out 10 Rye batters.
RHS Coach Alex Tejera said Vacarro kept Rye’s batters “off balance the whole game and we were never able to get comfortable against her.”
Rye pitcher Laura Thornton-Smith allowed eight hits and eight walks. Tejera said Thornton-Smith still pitched a great game and “really settled down” after the first few innings.
Junior Alyssa Longo hit a triple for Rye.
