Frida Henningsson placed runner-up in Slalom competition last month at Bousquet Ski Area in Massachusetts.
The class U18 feat earned the Rye High School sophomore a silver medal on January 13.
The 16-year-old, a native of Sweden, moved to Rye with her family in 2010.
She has since earned the distinction of being ranked among the top eight female downhill skiers in the tri-state area.
Henningsson has qualified twice for Eastern Finals, as well as the Junior Olympics in 2011.
In other Alpine ski competition last month, Henningsson placed fourth in the Berkshire East Slalom competition on January 5 and finished 11th in Giant Slalom at Wachusett Mountain in Massachusetts on January 26.
She trains with the Thunder Ridge Race team four times a week.
