The School will honor the Ciaccias for their generous support at the annual Gala and Auction Saturday, April 12 at 6:30 p.m. at Westchester Country Club.
“We are blessed to have such warm and dedicated friends as part of the Holy Child family,” said Head of School William Hambleton, Ed.D. “We celebrate and thank Sue and Domenick for their commitment to the mission and sustainability of the school.”
Talking with the Ciaccias you quickly understand that this is a mutual admiration society.
Sue offered, “Our daughters are all very different, and it was a huge and wonderful surprise that each girl got what she needed and wanted from a Holy Child education.”
Dom added, “Their education was never about the facilities for us — you can get lost in bells and whistles. One of the school’s strengths is the families have similar values and you like the kids!”
When Sue was touring the school for the first time, she had a question and the parent taking her around apologized for not having the answer. “One of the students happened to be passing by and offered to find out for us. I remember how confident and well-mannered and lovely that student was.”
Every year, the Ciaccias invite friends and associates who don’t have daughters at the school to join their table at the gala. Dom said, “They watch the 20 students serving that night and always remark on how poised and delightful they are.”
Dom, who was instrumental in establishing the Generoso Pope Foundation program at the school, has been in the tea importing business for 30 years. So when Holy Child was picking a theme for this year’s gala they decided on “Cup of Tea.” Clearly, Sue and Dom Ciaccia are their premium blend.
