Contrary to reports of private school students facing a much tougher early-admissions game this year, nearly 90% of School of the Holy Child seniors who applied early decision/early action were admitted to their first-choice school. Among them are: Brown, Bucknell, Cornell, Elon, Fordham, Georgetown, Lehigh, MIT, NYU, Northeastern, Notre Dame, Oberlin, Rhode Island School of Design, St. Andrews, Vanderbilt, and Villanova.

Among them are: Brown, Bucknell, Cornell, Elon, Fordham, Georgetown, Lehigh, MIT, NYU, Northeastern, Notre Dame, Oberlin, Rhode Island School of Design, St. Andrews, Vanderbilt, and Villanova.

“Our college list reflects a wide range of schools from small liberal arts colleges to large universities, from premier art schools and music conservatories to technical institutes and international programs,” said Joanna Broda, Director of Guidance and College Counseling.
According to Ms. Broda, as more high school students vie for limited spots at top colleges, the competition for early admission is stiffer than ever.
“At Holy Child, the College Counseling Office offers support and resources to each student as she begins to discover the kind of college experience in which she will thrive,” said Ms. Broda. As part of this, juniors and seniors participate in guidance courses focusing on all aspects of the college process.

The College Counseling Office also meets with parents on a regular basis to help alleviate some of the stress and anxiety of the application process.

Ms. Broda added, “It is our hope that each student will ultimately choose a college that will continue to nurture her interests and help her grow as an individual, as well as a responsible global citizen.”
