Does your home reflect your fashion sense and style? Trends in interior design and fashion have always mirrored one another. The connection between fashion and home décor has many similarities, including the importance of the use of color, texture, and placement. Accessorizing a room is not that different from accessorizing an outfit and the same rules apply. Here are some of our favorite examples of how an outfit can inspire a room.
Mixing masculine with feminine pieces works as well in your wardrobe as it does in your home. This pink feminine cashmere sweater is perfectly paired with cut-off jean shorts for a dressed-up casual look that strikes just the right balance between feminine and masculine. Combining different textures, layers, and materials is key in achieving a unique look that is truly your own.
A pop of color can make a drastic difference in both fashion and interior design. The key is to balance it by pairing with a neutral, such as black shown here. The same rules apply to interior design.
Traditional with a twist, this classic trench still has a fresh, young feel by pairing it with bright colored pants and animal print shoes.
