National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday, September 25, has been established to bring attention to the importance of voting. New York’s deadline to register in the general election is October 12. Over 160 state and national organizations have already signed on as co-sponsors for this first voter registration day, with the list growing daily.
The League of Women Voters of Harrison will be on hand in front of the A&P, 355 Halstead Avenue, September 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with voter registration forms and absentee ballot applications. Anyone who was not registered previously, or has moved, or has changed his or her name needs to fill out a voter registration form.
“We hope you will stop by one of our tables, where we will also be glad to answer any of your questions,” said Harrison League President Lola Geiger.
