Proceeds from the day will go towards a scholarship for a graduating senior from the Rye boys’ basketball program, who is selected by a newly established committee. The scholarship will be awarded at the senior awards assembly held each spring at the high school.
From 1-3 p.m., boys and girls in grades 3-8 can take part in the clinic, where they’ll receive expert instruction from RHS varsity head coach John Aguilar, former RHS head coach Chris DiCintio, and former NBA All-Star and Division 1 head coach Jeff Ruland.
Expect fast-paced action at the alumni game from 3:30-5 p.m. A $5 donation is suggested for adults; no charge for children.
Registration for the clinic is $30. Flyers and registration forms are available on the elementary and middle school e-newsletters. Make checks payable to Rye City School District, put Michael Ice Memorial Scholarship in the memo line, and mail to Linda Cunningham, 502 Forest Avenue, Rye, NY 10580. Include player’s name, grade, and contact phone number.
If you are unable to attend but would like to make a contribution, send a check to Mrs. Patricia Taylor, Principal, Rye High School, 1 Parsons Street, Rye, NY 10580.
