Want to make a difference in the community? Come find out more about the Children’s Philanthropy of Rye, whose fundraisers — the Halloween Window Painting Bake Sale, Outdoor Family Portraits, Cocktails for a Cause, and Spring Boutique — help children in need. The organization is holding a New Members Open Meeting Wednesday, November 4 at 7 p.m. at the home of Fiona Dogan, 3 Sharon Lane. Enjoy wine and cheese and camaraderie.
This amazing nonprofit, which grew out of the Woman’s Club of Rye, spreads its generosity throughout the community: Rye Recreation Day Camp; Rye Nature Center Day Camp; Rye Arts Center and KIDS’ S.P.A.C.E. scholarships; educational programming at the Rye Historical Society; character education and youth programming at the Rye Youth Council; EMS pediatric course training and equipment; and funding for the Rye Y Teen Center and the Teacher in the Library. They also provide grants to the Families in Need Food Program and Holiday Angels Gift Program.
