Julie Kattan, current president of Rye Rotary, and Hal Schwartz, past president, were honored as Paul Harris Fellows at the District Luncheon March 2 at the Crowne Plaza in White Plains. Julie is the daughter of Dr. Joe Soury, retired Midland School Principal. Hal is a member of American Legion Post 128 and a SPRYE board member.

The award is given to members of Rotary whose service to the club exemplifies the goals of the founder, Paul Harris. In 1905, he conceived of Rotary as a way for business and professional men (and later women!) to help each other. He called it fellowship and mutual helpfulness; today we would call it networking.
