SPRYE (Staying Put in Rye and Environs) has been awarded a $5,000 sustainability grant by the Village-to-Village Network, a national peer-to-peer network that helps establish and continuously improve management of aging-in-place villages. Funding for the grant program was provided through the generosity of the MetLife Foundation.
The funds will be used to strengthen SPRYE’s transportation services to meet the demands of an expanding membership. The grant not only provides much-needed funding but it puts us on the map,” said SPRYE President Nancy Haneman. “It represents national recognition of what we do.”
SPRYE provides 110 elderly citizens of Harrison, Port Chester, Rye, and Rye Brook with the means for independent living and engagement in community life. They accomplish this by delivering transportation, recreation, socialization, and in-home support.
