Kristin Cuscela Siano of Rye, N.Y., passed away peacefully after a long illness on January 18, 2021 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fla. She was 50 years old.   

She was the daughter of Frank and Mary Lee (Wilcox) Cuscela of Dallas, Pa.  After graduating from The Loomis Chaffee School, she earned an undergraduate degree at Lehigh University and an M.A. in Journalism at Boston University. 

An accomplished writer and voracious readershe began her career as press secretary to U.S. Rep. Phil English, a Pennsylvania RepublicanAfter several years in Washington, D.C., she moved to the corporate world in New York City, where she worked for JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Alliance Bernstein, and Guardian Insurance.  

In January 2002, she married Matthew Brady SianoAfter pausing her career to raise a familyshe returned to school to earn her educational credentials and taught English as a second language at Westchester Community College in Valhalla and Concordia College in Bronxville. When not caring for her family or helping others, Mrs. Siano could be found at the gym, watching her boys playing baseball, or curled up with a good book. 

A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, she will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, gracefulness, curiosity, humility, loyalty, and sense of humor.   

In addition to her husband Matthew Siano and their sonsMichael and Alexander, she is survived by her mother, Mary Lee Cuscela of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; her sister, Susan Carlson, of Palm Beach, Fla; and many dear friendsShe was predeceased by her father, Frank Cuscela.   

A service was held January 30 at Rye Presbyterian Church.
