At their annual luncheon June 13 under the tent at Wainwright House, Rye Chamber of Commerce members honored their own and had a chance to talk, not just Tweet.

Before lunch, there was a whole lot of networking going on. The guest speaker, Laura Fink from AMEX, provided plenty of helpful advice — and hope — to small business owners.

Sally Wright presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Rags for 38 years in business, and Unsung Heroes Award to the Department of Public Works.

“Best of Rye” Awards, voted on by the entire Chamber, were given out in ten categories:

Clothing & Shoes: Shoes ‘N’ More

Specialty Stores: The Open House

Fine Dining: Rye Grill & Bar

Casual Dining: Longford’s

Real Estate: Coldwell Banker

Financial: TD Bank

Services: Rye Beach Pharmacy

Schools: Rye Country Day School

Professional Member: Boot Camp by the Beach

Non-Profits: Rye YMCA

The 2012 Officers slate was also voted on: Sally Wright (president); Tony Coash, Lisa McKiernan, and Cai Palmer (vice presidents); Sula Pearlman (treasurer); and Margaret Ricketts (secretary). Councilwoman Catherine Parker is the City liaison.
