Major Campus Improvements Underway at Resurrection

No lazy days of summer for Resurrection School and Church. Last month, they broke ground on a redesign of their nine-acre campus. New playgrounds which could be coated with wet pour rubber, landscaping, walkways, and parking lots are on the way, along with improved traffic flow patterns. The first phase of a two-year Resurrection “Renew & Rebuild” campaign is being implemented with project partners Sullivan Architecture, IQ Landscape Architecture, and Landscape Structures.

“The playground and campus improvements taking place this summer and next will greatly improve the student and family experience on campus,” said Rev. Monsignor Donald M. Dwyer. “We are proud to have raised the funds to make these campus-wide improvements possible and we are grateful to the hundreds of families who donated to our Capital Campaign last year to make this upgrade possible for our special community.”

The main playground will be used by the Resurrection Grammar and Middle School students, as well as children who attend the Parish PREP program. The 5,000 square-foot space will contain 17 pieces of state-of of-the-art play equipment along with quality flooring by Wetpour Contractors, which will be linked together to create one larger experience with the netball line marking installation. The space will include large central shade structure in Resurrection blue to give the playground a sense of place on the campus. The two-color play surface is a durable rubberized product that will provide enhanced safety. Playful benches will tie in with the equipment. The Two-Year-Old Pre-School Program playground will be 1,000 square feet, with playground markings and equipment designed specifically to promote active and safe outside play for the youngest children. The playground phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in time for the start of school in September. We recognize that having proper playground markings for primary schools will help students explore and develop skills, including making friends and having fun. The playgrounds we’re creating will be safe and modern facilities that our school families will appreciate and enjoy for years to come.
