Marie Errigo, a resident of Rye, N.Y. for 61 years, passed away on April 18, 2021. 

Born in Port Chester on December 8, 1928, she was the daughter of Zygmont and Josephine Gorski. She graduated from Port Chester High School. On May 17, 1953, she married Dean F. Errigo.

Mrs. Errigo loved Rye and enjoyed hiking the trails of Edith Read Sanctuary and the Marshlands and walking the Playland Boardwalk. She figure skated well into her 80s. An avid golfer, she was a member of Rye Golf Club for many years.  

“Marie was an inspiration who shared all her interests with her children and grandchildren, and we will cherish the memories for a lifetime,” said her family.

Mrs. Errigo was predeceased by her husband Dean and their daughter Nancy Horton. She is survived by her children, Janis Garner of Ruth, Calif., Susan Morrera of Patterson, N.Y, and Dean Errigo of North White Plains; her brother, Zygmont Gorski of Port Chester; and her grandchildren: Michelle Morrera of Carmel, N.Y., Elizabeth Errigo of Macungie, Pa., and Victoria Errigo of Miami, Fla.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated April 22 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Resurrection. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rye Brook.

Donations in Marie Errigo’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
